In life we meet all kinds of people. Some who touch our hearts like anything,while some others, whose mere presence irritates us. Very often, we get to hear people saying,"Why doesn't he/she understand such a simple thing?" or "Why doesn't he/she behave the way we do with them?" and such kind of stuff!
At such times, I remember one of my teachers giving us a simple example. He had two paintings with him. One was very colourful, very pretty and was looking awesome. The other one, was a similar painting, but there were no colours in it. Everything was painted white. So there was no contrast and the beauty of the art was lost. It was too plain and boring.
He showed us both the paintings and asked us,"Which one is more beautiful?"
The obvious and unanimous answer was,"the second one."
Then he continued,"Imagine this world to be a painting and God to be the Painter. If God would have painted evrybody with the same colour, would this world be so colourful and interesting as it is now? Imagine me to be like you, your friends to be like you, your parents to be like you and your brothers and sisters also to be like you. How would life be then? It would be as boring as the second painting that I had showed you! So be thankful to God for creating so many difference between us, learn to accept people as they are and stop complaining. Its because of these differences that exist between us, that you are what you are....unique....one piece!"
Isn't this so simple...yet clears all the complexes of the mind?
